Challenges
Due to the major changes that EURESYS has undergone, visibility on the applications used was limited, making it difficult to obtain an overview of SaaS software in use across the company. Manual reports and departmental surveys were often required to understand what applications were being used, by whom, and for what purposes. Detecting shadow IT was also a major challenge. Software license control and compliance was a constant concern. Without a centralized tool, license tracking was difficult, leading to risks of non-compliance and unnecessary expenses. Tracking the costs and contracts associated with SaaS subscriptions was quite tedious. There was no effective mechanism for tracking licenses and their assignments to collaborators, or for negotiating contracts with suppliers.
